Cmotions was at Xtend25: The Highlights
On September 24 and 25, 2025, the TimeXtender Xtend25 took place in Amsterdam. Also this year Cmotions was present, not only as a participant, but this time also as a speaker, together with our client Accordis.
Cmotions believes this was the best edition yet!
All sessions were recorded and can be viewed via the link below, including our own session "Integrating all TimeXtender products." Xtend25 - YouTube
The two-day event offered an inspiring mix of product vision, technical sessions, customer stories and forward-looking discussions. Below we provide an overview of the key insights and lessons learned during the event. So you too can learn from them and discover what themes are currently central to TimeXtender.
Strategic context & product vision
The new CEO, Alexandra Bosson, kicked off the event with an optimistic view of the future. She presented a clear roadmap to an integrated, AI-ready Web solution, where metadata, orchestration and documentation come together in one powerful platform.
Key themes were:
-
- One central user interface (UI) for the entire platform
- Metadata-driven automation across all layers (integration, enrichment, quality, orchestration)
- Xpilot as an AI co-pilot within workflows
- Built-in features for data quality, lineage, documentation and monitoring
A key insight: 95% of AI pilots will not yield a return without a strong metadata and data quality foundation, a clear underlining of the importance of good foundations.
Orchestration, monitoring and data quality
During a demonstration, Wahyudi Vermeulen showed how TimeXtender's orchestration features help prevent "traffic jams" in data processes. The health monitor provides insight into status, bottlenecks and recovery actions.
Gunnar Magnusson then presented the capabilities of Data Enrichment and demonstrated how Xpilot can automatically detect errors, duplicates and anomalies, and even generate new data sets, without writing a single line of code.
Key figures highlighted the value of data quality:
-
- Bad data can lead to 25% revenue loss
- 50% of time goes into repair work
- The "1-10-100 rule": it costs €1 to record data properly, €10 to correct, and €100 to fix afterwards
Customer case
Cmotions (Bas Hopstaken) presented a customer case together with our client Accordis. Accordis uses all available TimeXtender products, which are fully integrated with each other. During the session, we went into content about the setup of these different products and the benefits they offer the customer.
Closing day 1
The day ended with an inspiring keynote on the impact of technology on people, delivered by Ben van der Burg. Ben is a former top athlete (long track speed skater) and currently works for BNR Nieuwsradio, where he regularly shares his views on technological developments. It was an energetic session full of humor, with lots of interaction with the audience. Even elements of the rest of the day were incorporated into the presentation at the last minute.
Day 2 - Strategy and practice
The second day focused on strategy and hands-on breakout sessions. Alexandra Bosson presented TimeXtender's continued direction: technology independence, strong integrations and focus on customer success.
Several breakout sessions were organized. One session covered the new functionalities of the REST connector, while another addressed a customer case of migrating Azure infrastructure to Snowflake.
Thanks to the central Unified Metadata Framework, this transition was quick. Notable were the significant performance gains, while the costs were lower. The presentation explained in detail the steps and challenges involved in this migration.
Conclusion
The event offered a strong balance between vision and technology. AI is currently a hot topic, but often remains theoretical. The fact that TimeXtender was able to show concrete examples of added value with the AI agent Xpilot was therefore an important added value. This means that development is moving fast and that we will soon be able to see the results of this in the various TimeXtender products.
