Deep dive into Qlik Cloud and learn more about collaboration & optimization

"Qlik Cloud saved my organization!" Of course, that is one of the best compliments you can get as an organization from a customer. Why this customer is so enthusiastic, I like to explain in my 7-part blog about the possibilities and content of Qlik Cloud. My name is Michiel Hofsteenge, Tech Lead Data Analytics at Cmotions and Qlik Cloud fanatic.

Collaborate and Optimize in Qlik Cloud

In the rapidly evolving world of business intelligence and data visualization, collaboration is essential to the success of organizations. Qlik Cloud offers advanced collaboration capabilities to help teams better collaborate and share valuable insights. In this blog, I take a closer look at some of Qlik Cloud's critical collaboration features, with a special focus on notes, subscriptions and alerting.

Collaborating in Qlik via Notes

One of the most effective ways to collaborate on data visualizations is through notes. Notes allow users to add comments to specific elements within a dashboard or report. This allows your organization to share ideas, ask questions and communicate valuable insights without emailing it. The benefit is that immediately multiple people see your comments. If communication is by mail, people may be forgotten. Or if you walk up to a colleague to clarify information, it stays between you.

In addition, Notes allows for streamlined collaboration by linking comments directly to specific bottlenecks in the data. This helps reduce miscommunication and ensures that all comments are accurately related to the issue being discussed. I also see particular opportunities here around master data management. What is the truth and is everything still correct in the data model?

Automate report distribution

Another powerful collaboration feature in Qlik Cloud is subscribing to visualizations. This is also called Subscriptions. Subscriptions allow you to automatically distribute reports and dashboards to selected recipients on a regular basis. This minimizes manual effort in sharing key insights and ensures that teams always have access to the most up-to-date data. This is a first foray into NPrinting in the cloud.

In a previous blog we talked about automations and thus also reporting services. Whereas with automations you still have a limitation, that is not an issue here. Make sure that the user to whom you send an email also has access to the app.

By using Subscriptions, you can be triggered to receive information. Especially in an early stage, pushing this information to the end user is a valuable step toward more data-driven work.

Real-time alerts for critical insights

Alerting is a crucial aspect around active intelligence. Qlik Cloud provides an advanced alerting system that alerts you when certain predefined thresholds are exceeded. This enables you to react immediately to critical situations and act proactively based on changing conditions.

In an age where data is the lifeblood of modern businesses, effective collaboration is vital. By leveraging these features, organizations can not only work more efficiently, but also respond faster to changing conditions and share valuable insights across your organization. The future of data visualization collaboration looks bright, and Qlik Cloud stands.
