Power BI Consultant
Data only becomes truly valuable when you make it clearly visible. As a Power BI Consultant at Cmotions, you help organizations translate data into insights they can actually act on, and you assist clients in creating understanding, developing future-proof dashboards, and designing a logical information architecture. You combine technology with consultancy: you develop solutions and advise organizations on how they can better utilize data.

What will you do?
As a Power BI Consultant, you work at the intersection of data, technology, and business. You help organizations gain control over their data and translate complex issues into scalable, reliable, and user-friendly BI solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Your duties include:
Developing dashboards and reports in Power BI
Designing and building data models (e.g., star schemas, semantic models)
Setting up and maintaining ETL processes with Power Query, SQL, dataflows, or Azure components
Integrating various data sources (SQL Server, Azure, APIs, TimeXtender, etc.)
Translate business questions into concrete KPIs, management information, and dashboard structures
Presenting and explaining insights to stakeholders
Advising on BI architecture, governance, security, and self-service BI
Automating processes with Power Automate (prior experience)
In our projects, you will work with, among other things:
Microsoft/Power BI stack
Power BI Desktop (data modeling, DAX, visualizations)
Power BI Service (workspaces, apps, datasets, governance)
Power Query (ETL, data cleaning, transformations)
Power BI Dataflows (centralized data modeling and ETL reuse)
DAX for calculations, KPIs, and measures
Power Automate for Process Automation (pre)
Azure services such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, or Fabric (depending on the client environment)
And are you busy with:
Data Modeling & Integration
Designing and optimizing semantic data models (e.g., star schemas)
Performance tuning of models, queries, and visuals
Developing ETL processes with Power Query, SQL, or dataflows
Integrating various data sources (SQL databases, Azure resources, APIs, files, etc.)
Setting up a consistent and reusable information architecture within Power BI
Building datasets and reports that align with KPI structures and management information
What are you bringing?
You have a curious eye for data and enjoy helping organizations make better decisions.
Additionally, you bring:
HBO/WO (Higher Professional Education/Scientific Education) level of work and thinking (pre: education in Business IT & Management or another technical field)
Experience with the Microsoft (Power BI) stack
Experience with cloud environments or consulting is a strong plus.
Experience with data modeling and SQL
Analytically strong and results-oriented
Good communication skills
You can make technical solutions understandable to the business.
Good command of Dutch and English
