Three years ago, Coen van der Snoek started at the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM). BOM ensures that start-ups that contribute to this with the right support and financing get off to a flying start. BOM also ensures that companies with internationalization ambitions can realize them. Every year, BOM realizes impact together with dozens of companies. This was essential for steering and accountability to shareholders and auditors. The focus was not only on the right KPIs and data quality, but also on reusability and clear visualization standards. That included setting up clear governance agreements, establishing a development street, structuring workspaces and managing access rights on AD groups. We worked with semantic models (shared datasets) to ensure consistency, limit access and minimize duplicate maintenance. Through design workshops, training and guidance, they gained insight into the capabilities of the data and confidence in working with the available reports. I supported the internal developers in their professional growth. Through coaching, knowledge sharing and the transfer of best practices, they are now able to develop and manage independently.
