Data & Analytics Event 2024
Were you at the Data& Analytics Event 2024?
A day full of inspiring presentations and speakers, on data & analytics, AI, Microsoft Copilot, data use in track cycling, and much more. All with the goal of: How to win with Data & Analytics!
In Apeldoorn, Omnisport was the place to be for this successful day! Under the inspiring leadership of chairman of the day Marcel Bamberg, the day opened with an interview with Kees Groenewoud, CEO of Cmotions, Gaby Smit, Commercial Director of Active Professionals, and Dave Jansen, CCO of 2Foqus. During this conversation, it was announced that the three companies will continue together as of Jan. 1, 2025. The new name? We're keeping that a secret for now.
The morning continued with an inspiring session on AI as the next step in Data & Analytics by Kees Groenewoud and his colleague Wim Verboom. Then assistant national team coach of the Dutch track cyclists Hugo Haak took the stage. He took us through his career and the role of data to further innovate the sport to stay ahead of the competition.
The afternoon consisted of four sessions. Two sessions were provided from Cmotions.
- Do you beat the Data Game: an online escape room to interactively engage with data,
- How to win with data: an explanation of the Target to Data model for implementing data strategy within your own organization.
The other 2 sessions were provided by
- Michiel Hofsteenge and Rick Knaapen of 2Foqus on how to determine which Data Management Tool is the best fit for your organization
- Ralph Oudshoorn of Wecycle and Sem Lemmers of Active Professionals on Wecycle's data journey.
The day ended with a final plenary session on Microsoft Copilot. Hans de Vlieger of Pink Elephant and Anton van Keep of 2Foqus told how Microsoft Copilot can improve your organization's productivity and what role the AI tool can already play for your Data & Analytics.
In short, a great day to look back on!

Sessions

AI: The next step in Data & Analytics
During this session, Kees Groenewoud and Wim Verboom showed that even in Data & Analytics we can no longer ignore the impact of AI. They showed which trends influence data engineering, analytics, BI and data science, which developments we will see in the future in the field of AI, and how you can use this to respond to the data landscape to make processes more efficient.

The Copilot effect on Data & Analytics
The launch of Copilot by Microsoft opens new AI doors. Hans de Vlieger of Pink Elephant and Anton van Keep of 2Foqus showed what the possibilities of Copilot are in your daily work with Microsoft 365, what impact the tool will have on data analysis and where the developments will go in the (perhaps already near) future? Includes demo of Hans in M365, and Anton gave a demo with actual data from track cycling.
How to choose your winning Data Management Tool
During this session, Michiel Hogsteenge and Rick Knaapen of 2Foqus showed you what insights a data management platform offers you that you need to move forward. On the basis of various variables, they showed how you can make the right choice and which options you should take into account so that you not only benefit from the power of a data management platform now, but are also ready for the future.

Reference Case: foundation open / Wecycle
During this session, Ralph Oudshoorn of the Open Foundation and Sem Lemmers of Active Professionals took you through Wecycle's data journey. They showed the route they took to transform from a demand-driven organization to a proactive, data-driven organization. The challenges and lessons learned were shared so you can bring them to your organization yourself.
